Gisela Gatzke-Diefert
"Emotions in form and colour"
Gisela Gatzke-Diefert at the LAUDA FactoryGallery
01.02.2010 - 31.03.2010
From the beginning of February to the end of March 2010, the Lauda FactoryGallery will be displaying works by artist Gisela Gatzke-Diefert, who now resides in Ravenstein-Merchingen. Born in 1939 in Wilhelmshaven, where she worked for over 20 years as a financial consultant, Gisela Gatzke-Diefert came to the charming Tauber Valley in 1980. After working here for a further 10 years as a real estate agent in Tauberbischofsheim, upon retirement she subsequently moved to Merchingen. This move was in tandem with a complete realignment: she discovered her talent as an artist, completed her first course under Rudi Neugebauer in 2004 and six months later was already exhibiting her own works in Merchingen Castle. The self-taught artist realised that she could express her ideas and give her creativity free rein through painting. Once the first few steps had been conquered, Gisela Gatzke-Diefert fell into an absolute painting frenzy and created around 60 paintings within just a few short months. During this phase she also discovered acrylic painting, which lends itself to her speed on account of the fast drying times. Over time, her works have transformed as a result of development, experience and exchanging ideas with others in terms of technique and vividness.
In the course of her artistic experimentation, the artist has always sought something new. Her works now encompass every possible style, from natural floral themes and landscapes through to interesting city skylines and totally abstract colour compositions. Alone the intensity of the choice of colours conveys emotions to the observer, sometimes deep red, sometimes yellow or green. Gisela Gatzke-Diefert leaves flowing traces on the painting substrate, such as the impression of human figures within a landscape or cities transformed into cubist sculptures, thereby using fewer, but all the more vibrant colours from the colour scale.
Art lovers can experience the impact of these emotions and refreshing colours by visiting the exhibition at the FactoryGallery. Subject to registration, the exhibition is open to the public until the end of March 2010 during business hours on weekdays from Monday to Friday.
